RW: Rachel & Pieter | Wainwright House - Rye, New York
Rachel & Pieter exemplified love in such an incredible way, and every single image you will see below shows exactly that. The love for their family, their friends, and most of all, each other! Working with Rachel & Pieter was such an amazing experience, and there was a very specific vision they wanted to make sure each and every guest felt on their wedding day. Ties to Pieter’s Dutch heritage, and the love they both have for Provence really was the centerpiece to creating the perfect wedding for them!
The entire design was based around the idea of toile, and how to incorporate this very unique print into their wedding in a classy and elegant way. So much attention to detail was paid, from the paper goods, to the flower vessels, and every layer in between. It was extremely important to make sure the space felt like it was warm, inviting and very much had a feeling of home. Almost as if Rachel and Pieter took things from their house, and brought them into the space! We wanted to be mindful to make sure this was still a very cohesive look, and the mixes of metals, pattern and texture, I think we were really able to accomplish that! Food was also a super important factor in Rachel and Pieter’s wedding. Pieter owns Louie’s in Darien (be sure to go check it out), and it is actually in this very spot that he and Rachel first met! As a side note - Amy and I were so incredibly lucky to have one of the best brunches EVER, courtesy of Pieter’s home cooking during our Design Meeting. It was definitely a meeting to remember, for more than one reason :)
Looking back through these incredible images from Paul Francis Photography, I am immediately transported to one of the most gorgeous late September days, at a stunning venue, that was the host of a beautiful wedding, with even more beautiful people! Rachel and Pieter, we miss you dearly, and hope looking through these images bring you both as much joy as it brings us!
A HUGE shoutout to the incredible women of Party Party and Coral Pheasant. Mary of Party Party helped Rachel and Pieter come up with such a gorgeous invitation design, that really captured the classic and traditional feel of their event with that prominent pop of French Blue. And thanks to Nichole of Coral Pheasant, we were able to complete the look with this STUNNING custom toile envelope liner!
Rachel spent the morning surrounded by so much love. It is so clear to see the connection that she has with her Mother, Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids in the images above!
