:: The Importance of Being Awesome ::

Early last week I received a call from a wedding and event planner in tri-state area looking for some day of help on a huge wedding in Greenwich this past Sunday. Unfortunately our team was booked up with weddings and personal commitments and we weren't able to help. I told him I'd contact my friend Maggie of Slainte Events to see if she was available. He was shocked. He couldn't believe that planners in the same market could be friendly and told me its a completely different atmosphere where he conducted business. I told him that I could count on one hand the number of wedding planners in Connecticut that I considered friends, and the remaining that I completely admire and always love seeing their work.

As wedding planners we don't have someone in the office or the cubicle next door to bounce ideas off of or someone to get advice from and sometimes there are situations where you need to talk to someone who gets it. Because of that I am so incredibly grateful for my "competition".  This talented and amazing group of professionals are a sounding board, an inspiration, someone to share our crazy stories to, and a crew to get solid advice or recommendations for the various projects we are working on. Everything is so much easier having people in your corner as opposed to against you the ring.

With that said....A giant CHEERS to drinks with my loves Bill of William Parkinson Events and Maggie of Slainte Events, to sharing my life story, ups and downs with the incredible Stacie of Stacie Shea Events, to a mentorship and subsequent friendship with the queen bee Candice of Jubilee Events, to coffee and referrals with Sarah of A Polished Plan, to walking the streets of NYC with the hot mama Kerri-Lynn of Stella Day Events, to admiring the incredible work and exchanging the most random emails and calls with the beautiful Ashley of Ashley Douglass Events and all of the other planners in Connecticut and beyond who's work I constantly admire, comment on and talk about (in the best way possible), you all are the best competition to have ;) I am so lucky to have great relationships with you all and we are all so lucky to have such incredible clients to create the unique and different weddings and events for.

Just a little love on a Wednesday morning. xo.

Post beer selfie outside of Geronimo last night with Maggie. Sorry Bill the selfie from Bar Taco was awful, no way is it getting on my blog. haha. xoxoxo
