:: Words of Wisdom Wednesday - Carpe Diem ::
Today is my first, and most likely not my last random "words of wisdom" blog post.
When I was little my dad rocked this beat up "Carpe Diem" sweatshirt pretty often when he was working his many late nights at his home office, I've known the meaning of the phrase for a long time: Seize the Day, knew it was cool but never really thought about it.
Then last night while I was rocking my fave "Italia" tshirt working a late night in my home office and thought about my dad's favorite late night attire - I decided to look up the definition of Carpe Diem again and while "seize the day" is pretty fierce, the Merriam Webster Dictionary definition caught me a by surprise:
“car·pe di·em noun \ˈkär-pe-ˈdē-ˌem, -ˈdī-, -əm\
Definition of CARPE DIEM
: the enjoyment of the pleasures of the moment without concern for the future”
There you have it, kill it today, don't worry about tomorrow. I needed that little boost of fuel last night, especially as we kick off a killer September!
