:: Lighthouse Park Wedding 7/7/12 ::
This past Saturday I had the opportunity to work with Christina of Celebrations by Christina www.celebrationsbychristina.com for a wedding at Lighthouse Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The wedding was awesome, the bridal party was fun, the family was overjoyed and the bride and groom were so so happy.
This venue is so cool, built in 1916 it was one of 10,000 carousels in operation and today it is one of 100. The beautifully restored carousel provides an unparalleled backdrop for interesting, outside the box weddings and events. Lisa and Garvin truly captured the facility's charm and theme of beach perfectly for their wedding by decorating the facility with teal accents (that matched the facility's exterior accent colors), Do-It-Yourself lanterns with sea shells and driftwood inside as table centerpieces, beautiful sand dollar escort cards / favors set in a bed of sand and a ceremony on the beach with friends and family to watch as the couple said their vows to each other.
The wedding had a fun casual feel, the groomsmen wore khaki linen suits and the bridesmaids wore a BEAUTIFUL sea foam colored floor length silk chiffon dress that looked amazing on every body type. The Bride's dress of course was the most beautiful of the night it was a fitted bodice silk dress with beading and a petite train. She looked gorgeous but what really stood out was her ear to ear smile the entire day!
The food was fun and different, catered by Planet Barbecue out of Branford, CT guest had some fun pulled pork, brisket, bbq chicken and lobster tails oh and cornbread. Absolutely delicious, buttery goodness cornbread. That was awesome.
The day was awesome, a fun wedding surrounded by family and friends with a lot of laughing, dancing (Including an awesome choreographed 1st dance by the B+G) and carousel rides.
Thank you Christina for the opportunity to assist you for this event!! It was a blast and I cannot wait for our next one!!
